Unlike Quanta (which designs custom servers from scratch for hyperscalers), Dell adapts standard server designs to accommodate the customer's software and support requirements — a value proposition centered on enterprise IT integration, ProSupport services, and Dell's existing sales relationships. Dell's AI server revenue grew over 100% year-on-year in 2024, driven by enterprise adoption of generative AI. The company had $3.8 billion in AI server orders in its backlog as of Q2 FY2025, with NVIDIA H100-based systems representing the majority.
