Shinko Electric Industries is a major Japanese supplier of IC substrates and lead frames used in advanced semiconductor packaging. The company's FC-BGA substrates are used in high-performance computing applications, and it is a key supply partner for leading chip designers and foundries. Formerly a Fujitsu subsidiary, Shinko Electric was acquired by a JIC-led consortium (including Dai Nippon Printing and Mitsui Chemicals) and delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange in June 2025, reflecting Japan's strategy of consolidating semiconductor materials under government-aligned ownership. As advanced packaging becomes increasingly important for AI chips — particularly for HBM integration and chiplet architectures — Shinko's substrate technology is a critical enabler.
